After 10 long years in Bombay, where women are generally in Denims (gotta catch a train 😛 ), I am still fascinated with matching Indian outfits & accessories with western apparels. Its just one of those Delhi things.
Long skirts & tank tops are a perfect match when it comes to an Indo-Western mix. A personal bias towards black has made half my wardrobe monochromatic. The freedom of being able to style a black outfit in multiple ways is priceless.
The tank top is a well fitted stretchy one, giving the torso a perfect curve. This scarf (dupatta, as we Indians call it), was stitched by my Granny. It is a DIY with a silver lace around the border and silver embroidery all over. A decade old priced possession that I cherish. Adding it to any look gives it an instant pizazz. Goes with “Everything Bohemian” fad as well 😉 . You can style any of your favorite Dupattas with this combo as the black skirt and top present a plain canvas.
Accessories are a must for the LOOK when going Indo-Western. Oxidized bangles and a bracelet here are a bargain from Goa.
This look was created while running for a Sufi concert in Mumbai. I wanted to look effortless with a hint of feminism Hope you guys liked it. Would love to hear from you in the comments below.
