Dolce and Gabbana Spring Summer 2016 show was a lovely tribute to Italy. The music, the models, the set up, the embroidery of different monuments on the clothes, the head scarf, the bulky eye wear and every thing else present there shouted Italy. The show nailed the current generation’s obsession with Selfie in a very flirty way. The audience took selfies, the models took selfies. Everyone was busy taking Selfies. This made me worry that in the midst of this Selfie storm I might miss watching the collection. But Dolce and Gabbana did not let that happen.
The show was titled Italia is Love. The entrance had an Insta worthy Fruit market already warning in advance of the Selfie obsession going inside. The focus of the collection was showcasing the different tourist attractions of Italy like Rome, Pisa, Eiffel tower, Colosseum, Capri, Venice and Florence to name a few. The embroidery on the clothes took us way back into Italian history when women used to make embroidery souvenirs at home. The models wore bulky embellished sun glasses, wore head scarves, Sandals and bags had Pom Poms. The color pallet was rich and the show was a delight to the eyes.
The dresses Silhouettes included Sun Dresses, A line, Floral Maxi and Mid length with intricate embroidery of the famous Italian Monuments. The collection has surely won the heart of all aged women. The collection was not about standing out but it was all about making you Happy
Take a glimpse of the collection. Dont forget to check out the Camera bag at the end that is going to be a big rage in Spring Summer 2016.
